Governor's Project

This year's Governor's Project is called Tools For Schools. Tools For Schools is a way to help elementary and/or middle school students get through school. Clubs can choose a school that they feel need help in school. You can aid these younger students physically and mentally through school, and here's the two options to help them out: Option One is to fundraise money to aid students with school supplies such as: pens, pencils, crayons, etc. Not all students can afford the basic school supplies, and this is one way to help them out. Giving them the necessities in school help children be prepared by having any supplies that they need. Any supplies needed by the school that the Key Club can get is also great! The second option is to tutor students who might need help in a subject such as Math, English, or Science. It's a great way to work hands-on with the students, and Key Club members can see the improvement they are contributing to. Younger students can also relate to older students like older brothers and sisters, so its a great way to bond with the younger communities in the surrounding area.

In Jimmy's words, "The reason why I direct it towards children is becuase they are going to be our future. By teaching them what they need to know in elementary/middle school, students can be well prepared for high school. Also, I have tutored my friendsand other underclassmen, and I have enjoyed it. I wanted to show other Key Clubbers how they can make a difference by helping in school, just like I did. It's a great way to see what Key Club can do to aid Kiwanis in aiding children."
